Chapter 6

Nicki dialed SB for the umpteenth time and got his corny ass voicemail again. She was angry, furious even, at his little disappearing act. She was also scared. She feared that something could possibly have happened to her baby's father. She knew that without Safaree there by her side she could not move on. She never even thought about him cheating, she was angry that he had made her vulnerable to such a bitch emotion as fear. Her breathing intensified as the thought of her everything being taken away from her and she started to feel faint. She grabbed her huge belly before toppling to the floor.
          Terrence walked though the door of Nicki's bedroom. He immediately started screaming and his whole lower body fell numb. He couldn't move. He just stood there screaming and crying and babbling on like a fool. The noise woke Nicki from her unconscious state and Terrence was already calling the ambulance. When he realized her eyes were opened and she was breathing he quickly hung up and went to her aid. He placed a pillow under her head for support and went looking for her keys and other things he would need to get her to the hospital. "T..." She whispered, "Where's Safaree?"
"I- I-I don't know, Nicki. I'll call him on the way to the hospital I, promise."
 Terrence lifted Nicki off the floor and carried her to the car. He made sure her seat belt was on, closed the door and ran to the other side of the car so he could get in. He put on his seat belt and sped off wasting no time.
      When they reached the hospital, T made several unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with SB.
"Nicki, he's not answering. He's just busy right now. He'll call back soon."
"No. Call Aubrey and tell him to meet me at Chipotle in an hour. The Doctor is about to release me now."
"Nika, you sure? Everything you and Aubrey went through and you want to meet him? Alone? Should I come with?"
"No, just call him."
"Nic-"
"T, please. Do as I say.. please." Terrence nodded and did as he was told. He got Nicki's purse and walked outside the hospital and got into the car. The entire ride was quiet because T knew Nicki was about to make a big mistake. When they reached Nicki's house T got into his car and pulled off after Nicki told him thank you. She got ready to get dress and go see Aubrey. She strutted out the door and on her way to Chipotle.
     When she walked through the door she immediately saw the back of Drake's head. She bowed her head and walked over to his table. She lifted her head and looked into his eyes. The sunlight was hitting his face perfectly and his milky brown eyes looked caramel. She observed every crevice in his face and took in a newly found admiration for him. She became jealous of the Sun rays that danced on his full lips. A painful jolt ran through her body and she bit down on her bottom lip so she wouldn't cry out. She ran out of the restaurant without saying a word to Aubrey or anyone else for that matter. She got in her car and sped all the way home. She knew she had every intention to get back with Drake to get back at Safaree, but Karma is a bitch and she thanked God she got out of that situation before her and Karma had a chance to be reacquainted
